I chose Canadore College because the faculty really care about students, they're real and they really teach
you everything you need to learn going into the culinary industry.
What I like about my classrooms here at Canadore is half of my classerooms are in a kitchen and
the other half are amazing and I'm with passionate people who love what they do and I get to
do it every day!
I chose Canadore College because I'm from a small town and North Bay offered me a small
town atmosphere and a location that I'm not pressured by a large city.
What I like about Canadore College is the freedom to be myself and to use basic and
simple ingredients to think outside the box.
Here at Canadore, our teachers are so approachable. They have an open door policy which means
exactly that. Any problems, any time, they're there. They'll help you with anything, with
whatever you need.
This year I experienced a positive placement. I was working in a restaurant for five months
where my confidence was boosted to the point that I am able to go on exchange this year confidently.
It's a great environment; you can talk to anybody in the hallways and in the cafeteria.
They really make you feel welcome.
I am currently registered as a red seal apprentice because of this program. It has given me the
basic foundations and knowledge to expand my career.
What I like about North Bay is that it's beautiful. There's place to go, I can walk my dogs, I
can hang out with my family and it's beautiful.
We have a small pond, we have lots of walking trails around the area. It's a real natural feeling.
After graduation, I'm looking to become a well rounded chef so that I can eventually
open my own restaurant.
Upon graduation I plan on obtaining my Bachelor in Hospitality at Southern New Hampshire.
