Welcome to video tutorials for students brought to you by the Computing & Technology Services office at Buffalo State College.
In this tutorial we’ll demonstrate how to lookup your Banner ID.
To get started, visit the Buffalo State website at www.buffalostate.edu.
When you get there, click the MyBuffState link at the top and then select Students.
Notice that you can access most campus systems right from this Toolbox,
including ANGEL, Banner, Degree Navigator and Student E-mail.
For this tutorial, however, we’re going to scroll down and click the Username/Banner ID Lookup link.
On this page you’ll notice that there are two different Banner lookups, and which one you choose depends on your situation.
If you’re a current student and you know your network username and password
(that is, the one you use to access campus computers and ANGEL),
click the second link that says login to look up your Banner ID.
To demonstrate how the first Banner lookup works, we’ll pretend we’re Sandy Student for a moment.
She’s a current student who’s been at Buffalo State for a few semesters and already knows her network username and password.
Again, it’s important to emphasize that you can only use this lookup IF you know your Buffalo State username and password.
If you haven’t activated your network account yet, or if you’ve forgotten your password, this lookup will NOT work.
OK, let’s go ahead and click the link that says login to look up your Banner ID.
When prompted to authenticate, click inside the User Name field and enter the word bsclogon.
Followed by the back slash, which is the slash above your Enter key).
After the slash you’ll enter your Buffalo State username.
Now, click inside the password field and enter your network password. Again, this is the same password you use for ANGEL.
After the slash you’ll enter your Buffalo State username. In this example, we’ll go ahead and enter Sandy’s username which is studensm01.
When click the OK button your Banner ID should be displayed.
Now that Sandy has her Banner ID, she can login to Banner.
That concludes this video tutorial. If you need additional assistance with your accounts,
please contact the Computing Help Desk using one of the methods listed here.
