Hello, today we'll talk about a very simple accessory...
but one that everyone should have in their kit.
I'm talking about Manfrotto's Super Clamp....
let's go!
The Super Clamp it's a tool that has been used for years
in video and photography productions
because it has an infinity of different applications.
It's made of a very dense and solid aluminum...
built to endure severe uses and environments.
It's design resembles a big metal claw.
When closed, it can hold onto tubes, tripod legs or similar.
It includes an optional piece for when we need
to clamp it to a completely flat surface.
It's main function is to support equipment or accessories...
and can easily support weights up to 15Kg.
It features a system of interchangeable studs...
which are inserted directly into the Super Clamp.
A safety pin prevents the stud from falling out by itself...
therefore protecting out gear.
It also has a standard 1/4"-20 threaded hole
where additional accessories can be mounted.
This tool can be used in many different ways...
It can support cameras in places where a tripod wouldn't fit...
It can also replace a light stand...
or be used to hold or hide microphones...
monitors...
reflectors...
notes...
articulated arms...
or articulated arms in space.
It's an universal accessory that can save you
in difficult moments during a production.
We recommend always having one of these in your kit...
it's price is so low and its size so small that there's almost
no excuse for not taking it to every one of your jobs.
There are similar models from brands like
Avenger, Adorama and Matthews...
but we recommend to stick with the Manfrotto version
because it's quality has been proved over the years.
