-If you've been stopped by a police officer
for jaywalking in the state of Nevada,
it's really important that you be cooperative.
It's not uncommon that people could be standoffish.
You're on the strip, you're on vacation,
you're having a good time.
All of the sudden, you're stopped by a police officer.
You're like, are you kidding me.
And if you become combative or argumentative,
you substantially increase your likelihood of getting arrested,
as opposed to just being cited.
Now if you're watching this video,
it's because you or a loved one probably
has been arrested or cited for jaywalking
in the state of Nevada.
It's really important that you have representation,
because through an attorney, you could
avoid having to return to Las Vegas
if you were here on vacation.
And it's very common that we could negotiate this charge
down to something less than a misdemeanor conviction.
Sometimes, we can get the prosecutor
to agree to dismiss the charge outright.
Sometimes these can be reduced to a fine, or even
a parking citation, even though there was no car involved.
But it's really important that you
don't want to have a misdemeanor conviction on your record
over a jaywalking, because in Nevada, that misdemeanor will
stay on your record for two years
before you can seek to have the record sealed.
If you've been charged with the crime of jaywalking
in Las Vegas or throughout the state of Nevada,
call us at 702-DEFENSE.
We'll talk about how we can develop a winning strategy
to keep that citation off your record.
