My name is Fran Kick and if someday you are going to be a band director this is one of
two experiences you are not gonna want to miss!
[Music]
Every year Drum Corps International and Bands of America open their semi-finals
experience to college music majors across America - undergraduate and
graduate level. You get to come in and see some of the finest music and marching
performances on the planet and interact with some of the best in the business to find
out how they do what they do directly from them. In addition to the semi-finals
performances, that you'll see from reserved seats that are free just for you,
you're gonna have an experience in the morning with some of the finest clinicians
in the marching music activity. Learn from them how they take the
experiences on the field and bring them to life off the field.
Not only with the students, but with the parents, the booster support groups, and
their communities at large.
It's the one chance you get to see behind the scenes
at both DCI and Bands of America that most people never get to see.
You just can't learn everything you need to know in a college classroom situation
with a one semester marching band methods course. It's impossible.
And your professors know that too.
So invite them to attend this event with you and your class so that you can
see first hand
what the marching music activity
has evolved into today. So that you'll be better prepared to do what they do
when you get to do it as a band director.
You're going to have a great time and I
can't wait to see you. So bring your professor
come on down and learn firsthand and experience marching music at it's best.
