Hi, Guys, and Welcome to Studio Knit.
Todays Knitting Lesson: The Knit Stitch.
After you have learned to create a Slip Knot and Cast-On your stitches, it is time to actually
KNIT!
The long end of your yarn, the strand that is attached to the yarn ball, stays in the
back.
Using two knitting needles, you will always start with your empty needle in your right
hand. The needle holding your stitches is in your left hand.
Insert your right needle into the back of the first loop.
Now wrap the yarn counter-clockwise around that back needle once.
Bring the back needle down to the front, bringing the yarn you just wrapped around it along
for the ride.
Bring the needle all the way over and off to the right.
You just created your very first KNIT stitch! Awesome!
Now you keep repeating the knit stitch until you?ve knitted all the loops off your left
needle.
Take the needle into the yarn through the back. You will see right there it is in the
back. And you take the yarn and you wrap it one time around, bring the needle to the front
and off. And carry on.
Keep knitting until your piece reaches the length you desire. At that point, you will
need to learn how to Bind-Off. More on that in the next Tutorial!
Thank you so much for watching. This is a new channel, so please subscribe and check
