Hello online learners. This is a tutorial video introducing you to Google Presents.
Google Presents is a slide show presentation program. The great aspect of Google Presents
is that you can share your presentation with anyone. If you are working on a class project
you do not have to be sitting side by side. You can be at your home working with another
person who may be at their home, school or traveling. As long at they have access to
a computer and the Internet they can create, edit, review and share the presentation.
Let's get started. First open Google and log into your google
account.
Next select Google Drive and click on Create.
In Google drive you can create a new folder, document, presentation, spread sheet, form
or drawing. Click on presentations.
The first choice you must make is the format or style of your presentation. I like this
one. The first slide will automatically be a title
slide. The following slides will be title and body.
When you are ready for your next slide click on Slide at the top of the page and select
new slide. If you wish to change the style of the slide,
click on Slide and select Change Layout. Several layouts are available.
Now you are ready to add your information. Remember for additional slides just click
on Slides at the top of the page and select new slide.
Some simple tools to use to make your presentation more interesting are text color, and background
color. To change text color click on the text color icon, like so and type.
If you wish to change text you have already typed simply highlight the desired text, mouse
over to the select text color icon and choose the color you like.
For background changes select the paint can icon. If you let your mouse resent on an icon,
an explanation of that icon will appear.
Next I am going to insert a picture. Select Insert at the top of the page. A drop down
bar shows many choices, one of them is image. Once clicked you will be given choices. I
am going to choose an image from my computer.
Once I have located the picture I can drag it or select choose.
Once the image is in your presentation you can resize it by grabbing and dragging corners.
Or you can move the entire image.
You may have noticed occasionally a note appears at the top of the page letting you know your
changes have been saved. This is one feature of Google Presents I particularly
like. There is no need to constantly save your slideshow. It is done automatically.
Just make sure you give your presentation a name. To do this go to File at the top of
the page and select Rename. It will be saved in your Google account.
Let's give credit to where I originally found this picture. I am going to insert a text
box. Go to Insert at the top of the page. I select text box, and then place it where
I like. If you make a mistake you can always back
up by going to Edit at the top and select Undo.
I want to change the font size. Which is found towards the top in the center. I like 11 for
Finally a new slide for a reference page
and my presentation is done.
Now to share it. Select Share in the right hand corner. Down towards the bottom where
it says invite people, type in the names or addresses of those you wish to share with.
Many of your classmates names are in the school's data bank and will appear once you start typing.
Choose as many as you like.
Last step push Done.
Remember Google constantly saves your documents.
Let's go back and see that my document is stored in my Google drive account.
There you have it.
