When I first look at the art piece I see a nun she is on her knees and looks like she
praying or even asking for forgiveness. She has her elbows on the alter and her hands
in praying position. On the alter there is a bible and a crucifix. Next to the alter
is a smaller table that has a skull and two boxes. The nun has a crowns made out of thorns
just like Jesus did. I see her eyes are red and she has bag under her eyes. She also has
a a rosary hanging on her belt. I believe this art piece is about a nun who
has sinned and is asking for forgiveness. I think so because her eyes are red, as if
shes been crying. Also because she is wearing that crown made out of thrown and maybe she
wanted to feel the same pain as Christ did. I think this art means something to those
who are religious or even for those who are not. The piece might be showing how we all
need to ask for forgiveness or pray. On the other hand it can also show that not even
those that are "closest" to church are pour without sins.
In a way this piece makes me feel guilty. I see how this nun looks very upset, so upset
to where she is crying and wearing that crown. This makes me feel bad because I haven't been
to church in years or gone to confess myself. Its a good piece of art work because we are
left wondering why is she crying? Why is she wearing a crown made out of thorns? And is
she praying or asking for forgiveness? It shows a strong emotion. It makes me want to
go to church once again.
