I'm Katie Adams, a registered dietitian with Decathlon Club part of Western Athletic Clubs.
The best way to get more fiber in your diet is to eat a wide variety of fruits and vegetables,
both raw and cooked. They contain fiber which helps keep you full for a longer period of
time as well as being beneficial for gastrointestinal health. Whole grains such as brown rice, oatmeal,
whole wheat bread and whole grain pastas are also great sources of fiber. Dried beans,
dried fruit and legumes are also really good sources of fiber and they also give you protein.
Be sure to increase the amount of fiber in your diet slowly. If you eat too much too
quickly, it can lead to cramping and constipation. And be sure to drink plenty of water with
