Hi, a while ago we talked about the popular Fader ND Mark II
from Light Craft Workshop.
Today we'll take a look at the most recent version of this
excellent filter, the Fader ND Digi Pro-HD.
This new model by Light Craft Workshop offers between
one and ten stops of ND in one filter.
It has good built quality, slightly bigger than the previous version.
This makes it more comfortable to use and handle.
It's front element rotates like a polarizer...
and the shift in the intensity of the filtering is easy to see,
letting more or less light into our lens.
It now features markings on opposite sides of the filter.
This makes checking our settings much easier from any angle.
It has a new handle to help rotating it.
This prevents our fingers from getting in the shot by mistake.
This handle can be unscrewed if desired.
Here you can see the differences in design when compared
with the previous version of the product.
This kind of filters let us control our exposure by keeping
the exact shutter speed, aperture and ISO that we want.
They're specially useful on sunny days or when we
use large amounts of lighting in our scenes.
Variable filters can cause subtle changes in color...
but this can be fixed with a simple manual white balance.
A common complaint is that these filters can soften the image.
The new Digi Pro-HD seems to maintain a good level of detail.
The "X Effect" has also been improved...
now only appearing if one goes above the maximum level marked.
This model comes in a new type of protective case...
very similar to the ones used with square or rectangular filters.
Now we can store the filter with its front cap on...
which was impossible to do with the plastic cases provided before.
The Digi Pro-HD is the best model made by Light Craft Workshop so far.
The new modifications offer a high level of quality...
plus they make it more comfortable to handle and to use.
It's more expensive than the previous models...
but it's definitely worth it if you seek professional results.
