Papa, who were Mata Gujri Ji?
Mata Gujri was the first sikh woman martyr in the Sikh History
Besides being a wife of martyred husband, she was also the grandmother of Chotte-Sahibzade
Son, Guru Teg Bahadur ji were tortured too such an extent that he was beheaded.
On realization of the same, the lady remained calm and optimistic.
Mata Gujri Ji kept on inspiring and motivating the
Chotte-Sahibzade when they were held as prisoners.
Mata Gujri ji was informing the Chotte-Sahibzada’s
about their presentation in front of the Ruler, what
they would accept between their religion, death and gold and riches.
Papa, what happened next?
Grandmother, don’t worry a jot, you have inspired us with stories
of our grandfathers, we would select our religion and death.

Let me comb your hair and wash your face
Let me place the tuft on your turban
Let me make you a groom before you sacrifice your life
We cannot forget the sacrifices that were made by Chotte-Sahibzade and Mata Gujri Ji.
They sacrificed their lives for the protection of others
They took charge in foundation of the Sikh religion
They spread their Guru's message across the globe
They planted the seed of their Guru's teachings
Mata Gujri Ji, devoted her whole life in protecting the religion
Son, never forget our forefathers and always walk on the path of truth.
