What can we do to continue to build the auto industry in the upper mid-west
particularly Michigan? There are a couple of things I would share with you
and I appreciate that--that's a great question
One is this customer service attitude
I think there are major challenges with the public sector -- again the public sector in our political
process in this country are severely challenged in terms of partisanship,
in terms of polarization and terms of it being about money.
That's not why we exist. I don't play the partisan game, I don't play all that stuff--
You hired me to give you great customer service--
the citizens did, and to solve problems. So Relentless Positive Action in my book
is no blame, no credit; here's the problem, here's the solution, solve the problem and be relentless
in solving problem after problem
to create an environment for people to grow and be successful
get more and better jobs and great quality of life and a place for our
kids-- that's tremendous. The other thing I would share with you is
we have the talent. I actually don't like the word "workforce--"
because I don't think that's the right way it should be described; we have the most talented people.
and when we're given the opportunity
and we work with a company on getting them the best training
you're gonna see the best productivity in the world. And we've got that hub, that
concentration to say: being part of the supply chain, being at the top of the supply chain
is a natural advantage. And we've been doing this for decades folks.
We lost our way in many respects, we messed up, but we got our act together now.
and we're coming back with a passion and a fire, and a commitment to raise that bar as high as possible to say that we're gonna
be the best in the world
Again, we got confused we got a little lost along the way, but we're back on track,
we're gonna keep going
