This is a 60-second Army Now from Soldiers Radio and Television.
I'm Sergeant Ashleigh Torres.
Soldiers return home to face reintegration.
Air Force Sergeant Colleen Armstrong reports.
Even though they're home, they still have an important final step to complete.
Some of us remember the old days of reintegration
where it was, "Turn your weapon in. See you Tuesday morning." Reintegration complete.
Things are very different now.
The 7-day reintegration process at Baumholder, Germany,
helps soldiers adapt the strengths and skill sets they used downrange to a completely different place.
They build on the proven strength, the inner strength, of a soldier to face fear, adversity, and challenge
because there is some adversity and challenge when you return home from a combat tour.
Mr. Furlano says the reintegration process is designed to ease soldiers back into their home community after a long deployment.
