Michele Sassano: Hi, I’m Michele Sassano, and I’m from Altoona, PA, and I represented
the Biology Club in THON 2010. THON has been involved in since I was a freshman at Penn
State and it has always been a dream of mine to dance. Getting that opportunity this year
really was an experience of a lifetime. I was so excited; I had such a great weekend.
It was so inspirational to see all the kids, get to play with them and to really see why
we raise the money that we do. Being able to do kid-like things for an entire weekend
and just have fun with your friends, I had a ton of friends that danced, and I was on
a committee and I got to see them an awful lot. So much support of even people I didn’t
know or people I hadn’t seen since my freshman year would come up and say “Hey, how are
you doing?” and “Keep going!” Just the support that filled the room was amazing and
just so much fun. There was a time that I was feeling down, I tried not to show it and
really think about why I was there, and why I was doing it. It just made it all worthwhile.
