>>> welcome to branon family
Maple orchards.
We lower -- located in
Fairfield, vermont.
We have a lot of help that we
Feed at lunchtime.
To get away from the ordinary
Sandwich meals, i like to offer
The guys some hot meals during
The lunch hour.
Today we're going to make maple
Pulled pork, which is one of
They're favorites, and this is a
Real simple quick recipe for you
If you are in a hurry.
So, we're going to get right on
With the recipe, and the first
Thing we're going to do is the
Pork.
Now, i choose to use pork that
Has already been pulled.
And save myself a few hours in
The crock pot.
There are many times you can buy
A roast, and you can simmer it
Overnight in the crock pot and
Pull it yourself in the morning
And add your ingredients and
Move on.
As you can see, i have pulled
Pork that i purchased, and i'm
Just going to break this right
Up into my crockpot.
You can find packages of pulled
Pork already to go in the local
Shopping area.
So, i want to break this all up
So that when i add my sauce, it
Is going to be a lot easier to
Stir the sauce in.
What i would like to do once i
Get the pulled pork in there, i
Like to turn the crockpot on to
Low so that it just starts to
Warm up.
I want to save all of the time
That i can, because i don't have
A lot of that these days.
What i'm going to do next is i'm
Going to mix my ingredients
Together in a small bowl for my
Sauce.
So, i'm going to start with a
Chili sauce.
This is a cup and a half of
Chili sauce.
And i'm going to pour that into
My bowl.
Now, this recipe here calls for
What i use is a barbecue sauce.
And you can buy one at the
Store.
I make my own barbecue sauce.
And it has maple syrup of
Course, maple barbecue and
Grilling sauce.
You can buy one at the store.
Just check your ingredients.
You want to stay away from high
Fructose corn syrup and stuff.
For barbecue sauce, this is two
Pounds of pork.
I'm going to do two-thirds of
Barbecue sauce.
Pull that right in, pour that
In.
Don't waste it.
Make sure you get all of it out.
The next ingredient we're going
To put in to the recipe is maple
Syrup.
Any grade will work.
I'm using a dark amber today.
And we're going to use a half a
Cup of maple syrup.
Pour that right in.
This is a really very simple
Recipe.
And it won't take too long.
About an hour in the crockpot,
And you will be good to go.
I'm going to add some black
Pepper.
This is coarse black pepper.
I like the coarse black pepper
Better than a fine.
I think it gives the recipe a
Little more zip.
I'm going to put two teaspoons
Of coarse black pepper in there.
The next ingredient, one of my
Favorite ingredients is ground
Mustard.
I like a little zip.
So i'm going to use four
Tablespoons of ground mustard.
Just like that.
And just mix it.
It's great to put the liquid
Ingredients together.
That way this mustard can really
Get blended well and the pepper.
If you just drop it in the
Crockpot, the mustard could just
Get attached to the meat.
You do get some liquid in the
Pork, but it is not that much.
So, mixing all of your
Ingredients together before is
Great.
So, now i have it already to go.
And i'm just going to pour my
Sauce mixture on top of the
Pulled pork.
It looks great.
You can already smell the maple
Syrup.
A little bit of that mustard and
Pepper.
Get it all, you don't want to
Waste any maple syrup.
I will take my spatula and i
Will break the pork up some more
And with the crockpot on, it
Will help warm the pork up a
Little bit so that your sauce
Can really be mixed well.
Okay.
So, that is mixed real well.
All of my ingredients off of my
Spatula so that i don't waste
Anything.
And i'm going to put a cover on
It.
And she is good to go.
At least an hour and you're good
To go, and that is on high.
It is going to be a little bit
Longer.
You can turn it down to a lower
Heat and let it simmer.
The more it simmers, the more
You will get more flavor out of
It.
But in an hour on high, you're
Going to be all set.
All right.
Now that we have our pulled pork
And sauce all together, i had a
Nice pot of maple pulled pork
Going this morning.
It has been cooking for two
Hours, and it is ready to be
Served.
You can smell it.
It smells great.
So, let me just move some things
Out of the way and we are going
To dish up a nice plate of maple
Pork.
Today i'm using a whole wheat
Roll.
I try to use whole wheat and
Nutritious things as much as i
Can when the guys are around.
I have green grapes instead of
Potato chips.
It is a great alternative.
Let's pull the cover, oh, and
You can smell it.
It smells so good.
And we're going to dish
Ourselves a nice plate of maple
Pulled pork.
So, a little juice, not too
Juicy that makes such a mess.
You will need a few napkins, but
You will enjoy it.
Nice and hot.
Good for you.
No process sugars.
Pure maple syrup.
Look at that.
Doesn't that look good?
Here we go.
Put the roll top on.
Let's cut this -- all you can
Smell is that maple pulled pork.
Look at that.
Awesome, not too messy, and --
But it is going to be good and
It smells great.
Something good, healthy,
Nutritious, something warm for
Your family, for your health.
So there it is.
