The Best Of NLCO Fall 2012
Welcome to this special edition of Noticiero Latino Del Condado de Orange
Where we will show you the best work of our school semester.
We hope you enjoy it.
In life, there isn't anyone that's wiser than someone who has been trhough all kinds of situations.
That's why veterans are recognized for everyhting they have done and been through.
Up next we will show you a story on how they celebrated their day.
Residents from the city of Fullerton arrived early to get front row seats for the 25th Annual Veterans Day Parade.
While the Veterans marched through the streets,
People cheered for them for all the sacrifices they've done for their country.
They received an ovation that not many veterans received before.
We have never received this type of reception.
When I came back from war and got off the bus
The only person that thanked me was a World War II veteran.
The marching band from Fullerton Union High School also accompanied the veterans as they marched.
As well as students who are part of the JROTC from different high schools in the area and other groups in the community.
After the parade, the participants marched over to the park for a short ceremony.
The ceremony for the veterans included the rise of the U.S. flag
Patriotic songs and words of appreciation for the veterans.
This is a day we should all celebrate because our veterans went to war so that we can all have better lives here in the U.S.
We just have to thank them for fighting for us.
For other veterans, this was a great way to meet up with old friends.
We all went to high school together and served the military as well.
It's great to be here because it's like a reunion for us.
The city of Fullerton has done a great job putting this parade all together.
This day is not only special for all the veterans, but for all of us
because we are thankful for the freedom we have thanks to these veterans and the current members of the military.
Reporting from the city of Fullerton

Prestigious universities and schools are located here in Orange County.
Thousands of students from different nationalities and races attend these educational institutions.
Unfortunately, some of them have been bullied or pointed out for being different.
That's why a local high school held a workshop to prevent all kinds of bullying.
Here is this story.
The scene you're watching is similar to what victims of bullying experience
at school.
Experts say that this and all other types of bullying should be taken seriously
and not as a joke
That's why the Garden Grove Unified School district held a presentation called
To inform parents about bullying.
The first part of the workshop focused on physical, verbal and phycological abuse.
Parents were explained about all kinds of symptoms to look for in their children to see if they are being victims of bullies.
The child can have negative thoughts or feelings.
The child can have negative thoughts or feelings.
The child can have negative thoughts or feelings.
That can make them isolate themselves from family and friends.
If your child is being bullied at school, you first have to contact the principal.
It's important to take the information your child is giving you and go directly to the school.
The second part of the workshop focused on cyber-bullying.
With all kinds of social networks and smart phones, the victims of bullying are more vulnerable.
Bullying over the internet is more prevalent, because the bully can intimidate its victim
with anonymity
With more technology and smart phone applications, it's important that parents keep track of what their kids do.
It's important for us parents to learn about all the new stuff happening in the internet or with cell phones.
Besides the presentation,
There were different organizations from the community that helped inform parents about the issue.
The school district is working with all these organizations to inform parents and help them prevent
bullying.

In our next report, we will show you
the courage that a book store owner had to reopen his store with the help of all kinds of people after being out for while.
