Heating, air con, lights, hot water, appliances
it all adds up. Did you know that
an electric clothes dryer is one of the most inefficient appliances you can own?
A typical Australian home generates about
500,000 garbage bags worth of co2 a year
You're basically throwing cash and trash out the window.
With a few small steps you can easily save up to 20 percent of that.
You could take that away in three whole Mardi Gras floats!
There are plenty of basic things you can do to reduce your eco footprint.
How about taking four minute showers and switching to a water-efficient
showerhead.
Or, if you really want an eight minute shower, call a mate.
There's so much that you can do within your building
Break the ice by planning a communal worm farm or compost for your block,
or use Facebook to share your tools and appliances with your neighbours.
Getting to know your neighbours and living closer together should mean using fewer
resources
and making our homes greener. Let's make sure this happens.
