>>MR. NCUBE: I think for the most part, it's funding. We come up with a lot of brilliant
ideas on what we can do, possibly do, with youths to address the problem, teen pregnancy
prevention. But oftentimes, we are limited by funding. And as a result, we tailor our
programs to fit the minimum resources which we have.
And the other obstacle, maybe if I can explain, is the fact that there are few corporations
who are willing to fund teen pregnancy prevention. And there is a need for massive social marketing
of the programs so that you get the community to buy in. So that you can get a lot of gaming
tribes. You can get a lot of corporations donating resources to teen pregnancy prevention,
of which what it means is, we should be able to show how teen pregnancy actually affects
the productivity or the future of their companies. Because those teens who are falling out of
school because of being pregnant are their future employees.
So we need to do a better job in terms of marketing how the benefits of them donating
is an investment to their corporations.
