Hi, I'm Judy Carrier with Jewels by Park Lane. I'm going to talk to you about selling costume
jewelry. Well, I don't like that term, those of us in the business and I've been in the
business for over thirty years, prefer to call it fashion jewelry. Because we're not
going to a masquerade you know, this is not Halloween. At least not yet. So, when you're
selling fashion jewelry, first of all you pick the type of jewelry you're going to sell.
Are you just raiding your mom's jewelry box or getting all the stuff that grandmother
left you and you're going to get rid of that? Fine, the easiest way to do that is a yard
sale or maybe take it to a flea market one time. And you're going to have to pay for
your little booth or your table. Make sure you have a banner with a name on it. It gives
you a little credibility. Or you can just advertise it in your local newspaper. Again,
it's going to cost you, so you have to know what other things of that quality or type
are selling for. So you have to do a little research first to get the most out of it.
Or if you want to sell fashion jewelry you can have a lot of fun doing it, get free training
and have all of this taken care of for you, you can join a direct selling company like
I did, Jewels by Park Lane and they send everything out to you including your paycheck.
