The task of creating a custom designed album or book requires our time, and attention to detail. However, it doesn’t have to.
Save time and have Miller’s create a custom designed item for you.
Our skilled team of artists will create one of a kind books and albums tailored specifically to you, and your client.
To begin this process, we will send our photos to Miller’s using the Designer Plus software.
Visit the Miller’s web site and click on the “Ordering Tools” tab to download the Designer Plus program.
Once the software is installed, this is the program’s opening window. Click on the ‘Create a New Project’ button to begin.
Double-click on the “Art Department - Custom Design Service Only” icon.
Choose a Custom Designed LayFlat, or a Custom Designed Signature Album.
For this example, let’s select a Custom Signature Album by double-clicking on the icon. Next, select the cover and page options for the album.
As noted, click on the Information button for more details. For our demonstration, we will select a custom cover, and thick pages.
Double-click on the Stop sign icon. A “Confirmation” window will appear.
To send our photos for the custom design, we MUST use the program’s wizard option. Click on the “Use Wizard” button.
Click on this icon, and select the “Add Folder Containing Pictures” option. Navigate to the image folder, and click the “Select” button.
To include additional photos, click on this icon again, and repeat the process.
Once all of the images have been selected, click on the “Next” button. From the “Page Layout” pull down menu, choose “Select Pictures Per Page”.
Then, select the “1 Per Page” option. Disregard everything else on this page, and click the “Next” button.
The next page will display choices for backgrounds in our custom design.
From the “Page Background” pull down menu, select the “Do Not Change Background” option. Click on the “Next” button.
And then, click on the “Next” button again. Input a name for the project, and click the “Create” button.
The images chosen for the custom design project have now been gathered, and will be displayed along the top of this screen.
Save the order by clicking on the floppy disc icon, or by selecting “Save” from the File menu.
To upload the photos to Miller’s, select the “Order” option from the File menu, or click on the Shopping Cart icon on the toolbar.
Click the “Order Now” button. The order disclaimer page will be displayed, check here to agree to the terms and conditions listed. Click the “Start” button.
A browser window will open. We will log into the Miller’s web site with our account number and password. Click on the Login button.
From this page we will refine our options for the items we are ordering. Select the sizes, quantities, cover options, etcetera for our custom project.
Click the “Continue” button. Review your shipping preferences, and click the “Continue” button.
And finally, click on the “Confirm Order” button to begin uploading the selected photos to Miller’s for your custom design.
The talented artists at Miller’s will create a custom layout from the photos we have uploaded.
In approximately 2-3 days, the layout will be completed, and an Adobe Acrobat proof file will be emailed to you.
If there are changes to be made, simply reply to the email, and indicate your changes.
A second proof file will be emailed once the modifications are completed.
And finally, upon approval, the custom designed item will be created for you, and your client.
