I'm Kelli I'm an aesthetician and make up artist at Ulta Salon and Cosmetics. And I'm
going to tell you how you can get rid of oily skin. Actually you can't get rid of oily skin,
your skin type you are genetically predisposed with, that's what you are born with. So you
are either born with dry, oily combination skin can't get rid of it but you can do many
things to help to control it. So one of the most important things that you can do is to
use a hydrator a lot of times what happens with oily skin we are always trying to strip
the oil out of the skin. So what happens when we do that is we actually end up stripping
all of the natural oils out of the skin leaving the oil and water ratio out of balance. So
in turn the skin thinks it's dry and produces more oil. Which leads to basically more shine
and us more using more stripping product on the skin. So just using a really good hydrator
which is an oil free water based moisturizer, that will balance the oil and water ratio
in the skin and help to leave an overall balanced skin. You can also use modifying products.
This is a modifying gel and what you can actually do is you can even apply this over makeup
and just take a little bit and pat it through the T zone or where ever you are concerned
with oily shine and this is going to help to control any oil during the day. You can
do this under or over makeup. You can also use an oil absorbing foundation and an oil
absorbing powder. So those are some things that you can do to help control oily skin.
