I have a puppet theater company and I needed to write a new play.
And I thought: why not use this subject matter, and that way collaborate with my grain of sand
to promote awareness
on the importance of treating animals and pets well.
It happened when my husband Leonardo brought Frida,
a six-month-old cat he adopted.
Unfortunally she was only with us for a month because my husband turned out to be allergic to cats.
Frida couldn't stay with us, so we had look for her new home.
I started wondering how many other people
buy or adopt pets and have this same situation.
So don't look for a new home.
What they do is throw the animal in the street. They become strays and wonder around suffering, getting hit by a car,
or die from bites by a bigger animal,
or die of hunger or cold.
The message tries to plant a seed in people's conscienceness,
adults and children, who see the show,
to think twice before adopting or buying a dog because it's not just any old thing.
It's not a toy. It's a little person who has many needs, like love,
not just food and water. Love, play and also the need to be next to humans.
