Presenter: The winner of the Leadership in the VET Quality
Award is Paul Rasmussen from Queensland.
Paul Rasmussen: Winning the Leadership in VET quality award
means that the work that we do at Uniting Care community really provides capacity building
for the communities and for some of the most disadvantaged people within the community.
We support a range of services and programs across Queensland and our services and the
training that we do provide well trained staff to be able to provide those services to the
community.I get up every morning and I know we make a difference. We run a range of services,
we run the Life Line telephone counselling service in Queensland. We run a range of suicide
prevention services, we run services for the most disadvantaged in the community it's really
easy for me to get up in the morning because I know that the work that we do makes a difference
[Vision of Paul Rasmussen on stage providing his speech] to an enormous amount of Queenslanders.
The Australian Training Awards are important because I think they validate the work that
we do and they show that the work we do is important and contributes to the wider community.
