So this is our Cropped Dispatch Rider's Coat.
When Rob and I were talking through the kind of the rainwear area
of the collection, we were looking towards the longer dispatch coat
we had for spring/summer. It worked really, really well but we wanted to make it kind of
a little bit shorter,
a little bit easier. We've kept it in this same
waterproof fabric, bonded waterproof fabric and then it's in this really
beautiful handsome camel colour.
It's got all the original features that we were working with. Map pockets,
the latches which are at the neck, there's the double buckle through with the belt.
It just had a really, really lovely kind of feeling and a practicality to it.
And we have this beautiful vintage piece that we were working with.
This is from around 1942. It's a dispatch rider's coat. It's a kind of,
as you can tell from the name. There's lots of detail
in there and we have this beautiful picture of these
guys, originally, just about to send out the dispatches. You know it's
very Farrell, everything was built for a reason. We're trying to carry through that,
that kind of practicality and that functionality. If I just take you through a few
details on the original,
again you've got this great collar. You've got all that latch coming up, with the buckles,
the eyelets.
The map pockets. You know you've got
the gauntlet, which we've kept in our version, as well.
The snaps that come across. Loads of
functional, functional detail. And it kind of really translates into
our fella just over here. He's a great short
rainwear piece. He's definitely something that kind of every guy could wear.
We absolutely love it.
