so with all the news on the election not let's not forget that the east coast
still struggling at in the wake of hurricane cindy one area that was hit as
the strategies were were colleges
on the east coast we've got an update on out what they're doing to try to get
back up and running after the hurricane on and we should also give you a spoiler
that there is expected to be of more storms coming in
so more bad news for the east coast
uh... but what interesting thing is that
in some of these areas like particularly in princeton
uh... the power at the university is up and running
but in the surrounding communities it's not so you're actually better off if
your stand because you've got food hot water and electricity
so princeton fully restore their power to clear the way that uh... falling
trees from all the walkways
superb *** guy get that done immediately
uh... but forty percent of people in princeton new jersey still don't have
time right
and software
uh... so we've got a a little quote here from other daily prince tony they say
that awhile undergraduate students in jordy rin tin food and warm sheltered
only experienced a brief i've made a power outage
undertones because the general power outages closed roads in gas supply
shortages all while temperatures dropped significantly that activity is its
freezing on the east coast right now people are going to princeton
whatever excel that i mean missus this is great for university students that
you guys do you have access
to such good infrastructure at the specifically at princeton how much money
flows causes had her own small power plants stuff like that a lot of
university infrastructure here which is great for university students but i
think this
highlights a problem
you know i mean it's it is great but the power's back on for university students
but the fact that it is still not back line in forty percent of the city is a
is a big problem and you know this just reminded me of what we stock with the
new york city marathon was that did not actually end up going on as scheduled
but
up until i think friday or saturday it was going to go ahead of schedule and
what we saw is this huge influx of support please marathon runners we had a
generators running power an insane amount of water wild literally onda
doorsteps of people who had no
homes also that these you know anything out please can go around twenty six
point two miles
well don't say i don't like that generators and given to the people who
literally can't cooked breakfast you can't turn on the lights who can take a
warm shower and sandy without water to people who can turn on their fonts it's
not the people who want to run
compromise
we get a massive treadmill have all the marathon is run to generate power from
surrounding communities that everybody wins anytime they debated canceled
americana are and and that's not exactly exactly the same obviously as as the
comparison between immersed in the city
and i just have expectation that's
places in certain groups of people i have better infrastructure and and have
better
you know response capabilities in this type of emergency and it's too bad for
the rest the city great for university students spent about for the rest of the
city
yes so uh... we've got and why use academic a buildings residence halls i
do have power but not hot water as of this report on many places have risen
classes someone friday
some started on monday of this week and i met him throughout the rest of the
week so
uh... i'm hoping about that
the storms that are inbound want to um... any significant damage as they try
to repair the damage working sandy
ables sayin if you're a student on the east coast we'd love to hear how you
guys are struggling with us i know that
my mother's in canada and she didn't have power for like five days something
like that
uh... like candles are quaint but after a few days they've been through
