Hey guys so today I'm going to tell you about my morning skincare routine. and I guess if
I'm going to do that I should tell you a little bit about my skin first. I have really quite
dry skin I don't have a lot of breakouts, but I touch my skin a lot so sometimes I'll
have some issues with that. I freckle really easily, I burn really easily. I basically
say my skin is really fussy! I have to do a lot of things throughout the year to compensate
for my skins fussiness. So obviously to begin I will cleanse my skin. I've been using the
same cleanser for a very long time. Its called Glymed Plus Mega-purifying cleanser. I think
it's on of those things you can only get at a medical spa type place. It smells like lavender
and it's not harsh, it takes off makeup if you want to use it at night. It's really gentle
and a bit moisturizing so it's perfect if you have drier skin, but I honestly think
it would work for almost any skin type. If you can't find this I just recommend trying
to find a gentle cleanser. The one that's most comparable to this and easy to find is
from Caudalie. It's their basic cream cleanser. I will link it down below, because if I'm
not using this one, that's what I'm using. It smells really nice, its hydrating and gets
the job done well. And the obviously as any self respecting beauty junkie does, I use
a Clarisonic. I'll just go through one or two cycles with dependent upon how dry my
skin is feeling. I know some people would say its ill advised to go through two cycles
with this if you do have dry skin, because it can be too much. Personally, I have a lot
of flaking skin especially around my nose so if I use this twice, mostly focusing on
the places where I have that dry patchy skin, it really works well. My makeup also applies
much better. If you haven't tried one of these Clarisonics, I highly recommend this one:
its the clarisonic pro. I have tried the Clarisonic Mia, but I just don't think its up to the
par of the Clarisonic Pro. That's just my opinion, maybe you have it and love it, I'd
love to hear about your experience with it! Though I just prefer this one. So do your
research if you don't have one of these, I think its really worth it. I have already
had mine for a couple of years and its going strong! As I said I have some flaking skin
sometimes. I know it's kind of gross, but hey! Whatever You're watching a skincare video!:)
Occasionally I like to do an exfoliating mask. This is definitely going to be too harsh for
some people. I use Kate Somerville's "Exfolikate" about once or twice a month. This stuff is
super expensive, but on days when I'm really having dry flakey skin and theres no other
way to deal with it, this is my rescue product. I use it very sparingly only when I need an
emergency skincare fix. It kind of smells of cinnamon, and if you haven't tried this
it is truly one of the best exfoliating masks in the world. I put a pea size amount of exfoliate
on my finger tips and massage it into my face in circular motions. After that I leave it
on for about 10 minutes. Which is over the recommended 2 minutes. When I use this I need
serious help, so I go that extra mile! It really gets the dead skin off. However, I
probably wouldn't recommend doing that to people with sensitive skin, leave it on 2
minutes as directed. It stings a little when you put it on, so be careful if you have extremely
sensitive skin. Other than that, this product is amazing! After that I am a big fan of tea
tree oil. Occasionally I get little breakouts on my jawline and cheeks. I put a few drops
of tea tree oil into some water, drop it onto a cotton pad and put the mixture onto the
affected areas. I do not use this on my entire face, nor do I use it without diluting it
with water first. Tea tree oil is an essential oil that has antiseptic qualities. This means
that it will keep your skin clean and clear by killing surface bacteria. After I've exfoliated,
I moisturize. This is Somme Institute Skincare's "A-Bob" Moisturizer. It is a really light moisturizer that soaks into your
skin. I often use this day and night as it looks good under makeup, and it hydrates enough
for nighttime skincare. This is a nice all around moisturizer and I definitely recommend
it! The next step in my morning skincare routine is to use sunscreen. This again is from Somme
Institute. This sunscreen is lovely, but a bit greasy. It works for my dry skin, but
steer clear if you have oily skin. This sunscreen is called double defense. Though I am not
thrilled by any sunscreen I've ever tried, this is the most comparable with my skin type.
If you have dry skin too, I would recommend this. After I've put sunscreen on, I like
to use an eye cream. This is the Bobbi Brown hydrating eye cream. It's a combination between
a gel and a cream. It settles into the skin really well and looks very nice under makeup.
After that I always use a lip balm. I think I'm addicted to lip balm! If I'm going to
be wearing lipstick I go for something clear like this Smith's strawberry lip balm. I purchased
this at Sephora. If I'm going lighter with my makeup I choose to use a tinted lip balm.
Just to add a little color. My favorites are Dior's Lip Glow, and Fresh's Sugar Lip treatment
in "Berry". Berry is a nice, deep purple-red. If you have any questions about my skincare
routine or about any of these products, please feel free to comment and ask me:) I link everything
down below in the info bar. I also make a video every week, so if you would like, please
subscribe! I appreciate you watching! I hope you're having a great week! See you in the
next video! bye.
