If I handed you a banana and asked you to open it, how would you
do it? Most people take the banana
and open it by cutting off the stem or sticking a nail
in the stem and trying to peel it open, at the least you have a mushed
banana at the top, or worst yet, with a lot
of banana skin stuck in your nail. So why
do we do it that way? You open the banana that way
because it is what you have always seen people do with a banana.
It's the way you were taught to open a banana.
Matter of fact, it's a natural thing your brain tells you to do
when handed a banana, but what if I
told you there was an easier way to open a banana? A way that if you do
it, the banana would open effortlessly
it would peel all the strings down, and it would give it you a nifty hold
on the banana. You'd probably wanna try it.
Well, outcome thinking is a lot like
the "Banana Principle". We take the way you have always
done things, and help you explore, stretch
and transform your thinking so you see
things in a whole new way. Now once your brain
catches on to outcome thinking, it will naturally change your behavior
So you act in accordance with your new beliefs.
This is because what you do is
always driven by how you think.
You must change the thinking in order to naturally
change the doing. You see, if you simply take the banana
and you turn it upside down, you can
easily peel it from the bottom without any extra
tools at hand, even if you're a person without nails,
you can still easily peel a banana.
But don't take my word for it, go get a banana and try it out yourself
Most likely, you will never wanna go back to the
old way of opening a banana, and you'll wonder why no
one ever showed you this before, because it makes
so much sense. For fun, start
your own banana awards, and give them to people
who are doing things in innovative way by turning things
upside down, and creating all new ways
of looking at things. May you go forth and have a great
outcome focus day filled with results.
