MATT CAIL: Hello! I'm Matt Cail. And on behalf of Expert Village, I'm going to show you today
how to organize and setup and tame your own art studio. The last piece of furniture I
suggest having in your art studio may appear to be an odd one on first look, and that is
a nice bookshelf, doesn't have to be anything too fabulous but a place to be able to put
some books. This bookshelf can serve a number of purposes in your art studio. First off,
you can have a number of books in your art studio which are art reference books, thing
where you're like, "I don't quite remember that technique." You quickly pull out your
book, you look it up, "Uh, okay. Alrighty, now, I remember how to do that. Okay, good,
good." You're done. You don't have to go downstairs. You don't have to leave the room. It's like
a nice own little personal book collection of your art. Basically art cheat sheets and
other reference books you can use to basically to improve your craft. That's one reason to
have it. Also, bookshelves have nice surfaces on them. We've talked today about a number
of things which are great to have surfaces on. Maybe you're running out of room and you
need to put a picture on here to look back to and draw or paint. Maybe you're actually
having--you don't have time for dinner again. You're really super hungry. You can quickly
eat something a little bit. Make sure your hands are clean and then put on the shelf
and leave it. It's kind of--it's a nice piece of furniture which doesn't tend to have any
art supplies on it which you know you generally do not want to ingest, that's bad. So consider
a book shelf. While it may not appear at first like, "Oh, that's something I want," it's
very, very useful. It's useful in terms of displaying books, having books, having them
be accessible to you and basically learning some other different artistic methods especially
if they've slipped your mind. Also putting something on--food or couple other things
you just don't have any space for it right now and don't want to worry about.
