People tend to think about the big *** as a sort of
explosion
which resulted in everything. Space, time,
all the little matter stuff
that is in the universe today.
But in reality the big ***
was most likely
closer to a rapid expansion
rather than an explosion.
Around four hundred fifty million years after this expansion,
we get to see the
first structures in the universe
coming into existence.
Galaxies like MACS0647-JD which is the oldest
and most distant known object in the universe.
As time passes it is obvious that the universe is an ever-changing place,
never quite looking the same at any point in time as it did previously.
Gravity is the main force that shapes how our universe looks.
It holds the entirety of our extremely expensive universe together.
Our universe is so enormous that the
points of light that you're seeing on your screen are not stars,
there's not galaxies. They're clusters of hundreds of galaxies, with thousands of
stars and
more plants than anyone could even imagine.
In the last minute and a half you've witnessed over thirteen billion years of the
evolution of the universe.
The universe is so amazing when you see it in its entirety
that sometimes it's easy to forget just how incredible smaller parts of the
universe are.
please join us next time when we take a closer look at the universe,
and explore galaxies
like our own.
