Ok, the importance of putting cannot be underestimated to get your score so when you see Tiger Woods
shot a sixty-three at a course or a sixty-five that means he was making some putts cause
no matter how well he hits the drive and the approach shots to the green he still has to
put the ball in the hole and that's where the putt comes in handy. So a lot of times
he's shot a seventy or a seventy-two and he's like "I played great, I just didn't get the
putts to drop". So this can make a bad round worse or a bad round good by making putts
or you can make a good round so-so by missing a few putts. So that's why putting, people
don't spend enough time practicing their putting. So you can see, let's say on this hole I made
a tremendous three hundred yard drive and this is my second shot so now I'm looking
at a four foot birdie and let's say I miss it to the amateur side too. So now I'm going
to get a par. Now maybe my problem, the guy that I'm playing with or the foursome I'm
playing with maybe they didn't hit such a good drive and maybe their second shot wasn't
so great but if they roll in a twenty foot putt they've actually beaten my score. So
the importance of putting for scoring is so important so like a three foot putt is worth
just as much as a three hundred drive cause they're both one shot so you want to keep
that in mind as you're a developing player. Work on your putting a lot and if you're a
pretty good player, this is the fastest way to shave another stroke or two off your game
is to get it, become a better putter.
