X
in the nineteen seventies and eighties I was a hit songwriter
record producer music publisher audio engineer and recording studio owner
based in Muscle Shoals Alabama
in 1985 on a whim I arranged and recorded five traditional nursery songs
using a human heartbeat as the rhythm The idea was to make a recording that could
help children sleep at nap time
in local childcare centers. Little did I know this fun but challenging project
would changed my life
nurses at Helen Keller Hospital heard about how well it was working in the
child care centers
and tested the recordings in their newborn nursery. The head nurse reported that
over six week period ninety-four percent of their crying babies stop crying
or went to sleep in less than two minutes when they played the Heartbeat Lullabies
Later that year I received a call from the Cardiac Recovery Unit
at the University of Alabama Hospital in Birmingham
The intensive care nurses wanted to share their discovery and let me see it
in person
The children that the tape is being used on are patients who have undergone
surgical repairs to congenital heart anomalies. It seems to reach down deep inside
and reach something in them that helps them relax and go to sleep
It has worked so well with our tiny babies up here that
I think it's the most beautiful thing that has come to our C.I.C.U
Then the Baby go to Sleep cassette spread to the Neonatal Intensive Care Units
Neonatal nurses swear by the Baby go to Sleep system
Major hospitals are using the audio tapes and find the sounds especially
helpful for preemies
in 1987 I felt called to leave the glitz and glamour the entertainment industry
to spend full time creating more Heartbeat Lullabies
helping spread the use in hospitals and home
whether you want to sleep to the music when you were baby saw it calm your child
or grandchild asleep
or saw it calm preemies in hospital intensive care units
you'll never forget their distinctive sound and how affective they still are
millions of people have successfully use my nurturing bedtime routine
along with playing the research backed Heartbeat Lullabies
to teach their baby to sleep all night You can listen free to my audiobook
Getting your Baby to Sleep - Made Easy you will learn how to get your baby to sleep
without having to let him cry
