The Council of Labor Affairs announced the results of labor inspection this February. Chunghwa Post (Taiwan Post Office) was labeled a "sweatshop postal office" due to its third-place ranking for violations by all Taiwan enterprises.
"Several legislators said they'd received complaints from a few postmen recently. They claimed Chunghwa Post had ignored the results, but was eager to find out who had complained to the inspectors.
Some employees were under so much pressure they needed professional help from psychiatrists.
The minister of transportation said having the Post Office labeled a "sweatshop" was unacceptable
He said he was determined to hold a full scale review of current regulations in all of Taiwan’s post offices. �
