Your Independence Day
The events helped visitors find out about the wide
range of local services, equipment, products and activities available.
These things will help them or the loved ones they care for
to stay independent and enjoy a range of community activities.
The exhibition included charities, voluntary organisations and private
businesses as well as services offered by the council
and by other public bodies including the Health Service.
There was a focus on prevention which enables people to remain independent.
Keeping active can also help people stay independent.
Visitors could join in with Zumba dance, keep fit, ballroom dancing
and line dancing, as well as yoga and salsa.
There were also demonstrations of safe ways to move and handle
the people who are being cared for.
The two events atrracted over 300 visitors, with people telling us
that they felt welcomed, were given the information they needed
and found out about organisations and services they had not heard of before.
The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead would like to
thank everyone who visited and contributed to
the two Your Independence Day events.
