I was watching the other day a documentary about the fossilized bacterial remains that are in Australia, that this may be the first sort of fossilized life. And this documentary was trying to move me away from the idea of believing in a creator when actually it just sort of promoted it even further for me.
God is the underpinnning, the divine intelligence, but then at the same time I don't think that God is as intelligent as we give God credit for. I think that God is much more limited than we think.
I believe it was Maimonides who said in the "13 Principle of Jewish Faith" that God is omnipotent and God is all encompassing, and all this other stuff. And I don't think that's true.Does that mean I believe in kind of a demigod? I don't know. But I don't think that God is quite as all powerful as we give God credit for. There's no reason to believe that because our universe exists that the God that created it is necessarily all powerful. It could be that creating our universe and all the life in it is as simple as flipping the switch on a light bulb or something.
