The train came at night that day, late in the afternoon
and I sent two people to escort a migrant married couple.
The woman was pregnant and very young.
When the train left, she and her husband Jose stayed.
I said to myself: Oh God, what are they going to do?
I don't have money to put them in a hotel.
I can't take them home as police and immigration officials are on to me.
In the middle of this there where two people
and they told me: Look, if they want, I can let them stay here
there's space, but they have to pay.
I told them: I have a two hundred peso bill (US$15)
I'll give it to you if you take care of them in your home.
When I came back the next day they were gone.
I thought, they didn't have money, where could they go?
The train hadn't come yet. It was mysterious.
I learned later they where the kidnappers and I'd handed them over.
Furthermore I paid them to kidnap them. That's why I opened the shelter.
How far away I am from the place
where I was born
Immense homesickness fills my thoughts
Seeing myself so alone and sad
like a leaf in the wind
I would like to cry,
I would like to die of grief
Oh Land of the Sun!
I long to see you
Now I live so far away
I live without light, without love
Seeing my self so lonely and sad
like a leaf in the wind
I would like to cry
I would like to die of grief
