made to your Battle.net account via your mobile phone,
then Battle.net SMS Protect is just for you.
After activation, you will receive messages that
enable you to quickly react to suspicious activity
and thus help keep your account safe.
In addition, Battle.net SMS Protect allows you to
access your account if you lose your Authenticator,
recover your Battle.net account name or password,
unlock your Battle.net account, and more.
Bear in mind that Battle.net SMS Protect is required
if you want to use PayPal on the Diablo III real-money auction house.
Unless your mobile provider charges fees for received text messages,
Battle.net SMS Protect is completely free.
All you need to do to use this feature
is to register your mobile phone on your Battle.net account.
To activate Battle.net SMS Protect,
please visit our website battle.net and log in to your Battle.net account.
Now click on "ACCOUNT" in the upper right corner of the screen.
You can see the current status of the available
account security features on the left side of this page.
Click on "Add Battle.net SMS Protect".
The next page details the advantages the feature offers
as well as other important information.
Click on "Add Battle.net SMS Protect" to continue.
You can link your Mobile Phone to your Battle.net account in two simple steps.
First, enter your mobile phone number.
Bear in mind that a given mobile phone number
can only be used for one Battle.net account.
Read and accept the terms of use by checking the corresponding box.
Click on "Send Code Now" to receive a verification code
via text message on your mobile phone.
In the next step, enter the code you received
in the relevant field and click on "Verify Code".
If you haven't received a code or the code sent to you doesn't work,
you can request another one via the highlighted symbol.
Congratulations! You have successfully registered your mobile phone.
By default, alert texting is disabled.
If you would like to receive text messages about changes to
your Battle.net account, you can enable the optional alert texting.
To do so, go to the Battle.net SMS Protect settings page.
Tick the corresponding box
and click on "Save and return to account summary".
You should receive a text message confirming
the successful activation of alert texting.
You can change your currently registered mobile contact number
as long as you have access to it.
If you do not have access to this number anymore,
you can contact our Customer Support directly for further help.
You will find their contact information in the
"Knowledge Center" section of your Battle.net account.
To change the mobile phone number associated with
your Battle.net account, go to your account overview page and
click on "Edit Battle.net SMS Protect".
Then, click on "Change" as shown here.
On the next page, click on "Send code now".
You should receive a verification code
your currently registered mobile phone.
Enter the code you have received in the relevant field.
Then proceed to entering the new mobile phone number
and accept the terms of use before clicking "Send Code Now".
Check for another verification code you should receive
on your newly registered mobile phone.
Finish the process by entering this code and clicking "Verify Code".
Registering your mobile phone on your Battle.net account
can really simplify account-security related situations.
For example, Blizzard may lock an account in case of security risks.
Should this happen to you, you will easily be able to
unlock your account via your mobile phone
provided it is registered to your Battle.net account.
With your registered mobile phone you can also
remove an authenticator from your account,
recover your Battle.net account name and
reset your Battle.net password.
To perform any of these actions,
go to the Battle.net login page and click on "Can't log in?".
On the next page, simply click on the appropriate category.
Once on the account verification form, fill in your account details
to verify account ownership and click "continue".
If you were trying to retrieve your account name,
it should be sent to you by text message at this point.
Otherwise, you should receive a verification code
on the mobile phone registered to your account.
Enter it in the text field and click on "Verify Code"
to finalise the process and regain access to your account.
Should you decide you no longer need Battle.net SMS Protect,
you can disable it via your account's security options.
Click on "Remove Battle.net SMS Protect".
On the next page, confirm by clicking on
"Yes, remove Battle.net SMS Protect".
After receiving the verification code, enter it in the relevant field
and finish the removal process by clicking on "Verify Code".
