It's Friday, March 14th, and last Friday morning a crash occurred on State Road 67 near County
Road 700 West. Twenty-six-year-old Dakota L. Burnette, of Oolitic, was pronounced dead
at the scene.
The Indiana State Fire Marshal's Office is seeking the public's help in finding those
responsible for two recent fires in Linton.
Southern Indiana Workwear on North West A Street in Linton was set on fire on February
26th and again on February 28th. Anyone with information on this case is urged to call
the Arson Hotline. The Indiana Association of Arson Investigators, in cooperation with
the Indiana State Fire Marshal's Office and the Property Insurance Companies operating
in Indiana, offers up to a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
The Greene County Court Appointed Special Advocate Program will hold its Spring Training
and Informational Meeting at 6 p.m. on Monday, March 17 in the banquet room of Linton's Goosepond
Pizza. Potential volunteers will learn about the CASA Program, which advocates for children
who have been abused or neglected.
Several scams have been causing locals problems recently, and in order to protect yourself,
Greene County Sheriff's Department Dispatch Supervisor Jodi Dunigan says that no one should
send money or personal information in response to unsolicited calls or emails.
