Hello everybody!
You can see this list of words behind me. I’m going to show you how to sign these.
Let’s start with h-e-l-l-o, HELLO. H-O-W-A-R-E-Y-O-U. This is how it’s signed: HOW ARE YOU?
And how are YOU, those of you looking at me through the camera? I’m sure this is quite fascinating for you. Maybe you’ve seen people communicate or you’re fascinated by signs and you’ve wondered what you can do.
Well I have a solution, we offer American Sign Language classes here twice a week, Level One is on Tuesdays and Level Two is on Fridays.
Classes begin on Tuesday, September 13th and for Friday classes, September 16th. Tuesday classes cost $110 and the Friday course is $95. It’s from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. The Tuesday class is from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
It’s open to anyone who is motivated and wants to learn sign from high school age and beyond.
You probably would like to know how to register. You can do it on our website www.hearingbridges.org.
Once you pull up the website, look at the right side of the homepage and click button for classes in the right hand column. Then you can select which course you’d like to take, level one or two.
If you need additional information you can call any of the staff members here at the office or you can contact me via video phone. To register you may pay over the phone or walk in and speak with any of the staff members in the office.
Let me show you the book that we use. Each of the courses is a 10 week class and the cool thing about it is there are no grades and no tests.
The classes are designed to teach you basically how to sign and to teach you about Deaf culture. Bridges serves the Deaf, hard of hearing, and hearing communities. You can check out our website www.hearingbridges.org.
Thanks, I’ll catch you later now back to work.
Okay class, S-I-S-T-E-R, this is the sign for SISTER.
Oh excuse me, I’m being called away. Goodbye!
