Hi, my name is Seann McWhorter. I'm the agency principal of Insure Right Insurance Agency
located in Lehi, Utah. We're here to talk about insurance ins and outs and, specifically,
how to get car insurance as a high-risk driver. So, you've had a few speeding tickets or maybe
a couple of accidents that have been turned in on your insurance or maybe you've got a
DUI or a DWI, and you've been canceled or non-renewed on your auto insurance. So, now
you need to shop for auto insurance as a; what the insurance world would consider a
high-risk driver. There are many reasons why an insurance company would consider you a
high-risk driver. It could be that you've received multiple moving violations, multiple
accidents, DUI's or other major violations, or perhaps you've been driving around with
no insurance. All of these factors would make you considered a high-risk driver, and so
you're not going to be able to get coverage in a preferred carrier, preferred or standard
carrier. You're going to go with what the industry calls a non-standard or high-risk
insurance company. The process is much; is very similar to a regular, preferred or standard
auto insurance policy. You're going to give all of the, the basic information; your name,
your address, your date of birth, your drivers license and in some states, your social security
number or either your vehicle information, and the agent will run those quotes for you
and find, find a company that suits your needs.
