Today we’re presenting to you an extraordinary software.
It’s designed to work with the HD/SD ATEM switchers:
Television Studio, 1M/E and 2M/E. Those switchers have gained recognition amongst
their users mainly because of their excellent value
for money. The switchers can be manned with
the software provided with purchase. This software is released by Blackmagic Design
and it is called ATEM Software Control. This application enables the user
to control the switchers with a mouse... and keyboard.
The switchers are also manageable via particular hardware panels,
however they are usually more expensive than the switchers themselves.
The standard control panel of ATEM switchers can be entirely replaced by the new
revolutionary software called LIVE TV MultiView Control Panel for ATEM Switchers.
This software helps to entirely eliminate the use of a second monitor,
which used to be indispensable in production. Thanks to the Live TV MultiView
the executive producer can see only one panel on the monitor
and it enables them to navigate the switcher and sneak peek at the imagery.
You can easily enlarge it to a wide screen. The image that used to be displayed on the
second monitor while working with ATEM Software Control,
in Live TV MultiView became the active control panel!
The switcher is controled by clicking on the windows previewing the images from
the cameras or multimedia files, and also on the PREVIEW and PROGRAM options.
What’s more, from the LIVE TV MultiView panel level
you have an instant access to all of the program’s options.
The most important one is obviously the image source selection.
The source can be either a video card or an Internet signal
- all thanks to interactions with programs receiving internet transmitted images from
other computers. When it comes to the video cards mentioned,
we recommend the DecLink ones from Blackmagic Design,
the company behind the ATEM switchers. Another useful option is the ability to adjust
the proportion of the window displayed between 4:3 and 16:9.
One of the key features is the ability to crop the image.
It allows the producer to chose the fragment of the image
that they want to work on and display it in full screen.
Cropping is made easier by the possiility to pre-define presets.
Later on, during transmission, the producer can have a quick access to particular frames
all it takes is to click on one of the presets, which will bring up the desired part of the
image. The most important feature, which gives the
basis for the whole program, are the so called Active
Regions. Defining them enables to specify which operation
is the switcher supposed to perform after clicking
on the particular spot on the screen. Now we turn off the Active Regions to see
the full view. You can define the regions by selecting the
option ATEM Switchers Settings.
In the pop up window you can set any number of them.
This process is very easy. You just need to give the chosen region a
name... ... select the image source
chosing between all of the switcher’s sources... ... as well as PREVIEW and PROGRAM.
Then we set coordinates defining the regions' location and size.
In this case, the selected camera is located in this region,
so we need to set the following cooridinates: X: 0%
Y: 50% Width: 25%
Height: 25% These are the tasks you need to perform to
control the mouse. What’s more, we can also immediately set
the navigation of the selected region of the image from the
keyboard level. As a result, after pressing particular keys
you’ll be able to switch between the image from a particular camera to a PREVIEW or PROGRAM
option, enable selected effect,
crop and even fade to black. At the end, don't forget to apply the changes
you made. Regions can have different positions on the
screen. As a default, the panel has several predifined
settings, i.e. two big PREVIEW and PROGRAM windows
and eight smaller preview screens from cameras and others.
These are standard settings for ATEM switchers, therefore anyone who used them before will
feel very comfortable working with LIVE TV MultiView.
One can also customise the display of windows on the screen,
save that setting on the drive and select anytime.
LIVE TV MultiView, as well as the standard mixer’s panel,
enables editing by capturing selected images within
a frame for PREVIEW (green frame) and PROGRAM (red frame).
It’s particularly useful while switching, which is also possible from
the LIVE TV MultiView panel level. You can set any number of keyboard shortcuts.
These functions are only a few of all the options
offered by this revolutionary software. This software gives the owners of ATEM switchers
a comfortable and easy way of working with them.
LIVE TV MultiView enables to edit and watch at the same time, on the same
screen. It’s extremely important when producing
a live transmission, when smooth editing is twice as important
because any mistake would be visible on the broadcast and impossible to correct.
The rate of mistakes is obviosuly lower when the producer can fully focus
on the screen with previews from all of the cameras.

this software.
