>>Trenton: Hey everyone, this is Trenton. Um, this is my two weeks on T video. I apologize
if the light's not the greatest. This is in my bedroom and I need to get another lamp
in here but I haven't done that yet I'll try to get that fixed for future videos. I am
sitting in a chair this week though, so hopefully I won't be moving around as much. Um, there's
really not too much to report this week. I saw my doctor but I didn't get another shot
because the dose they gave me last time was, um, typically - is one that's typically given
every other week. Um, so my doctor told me that she's actually okay with me getting a
shot every 10-14 days; I don't have to wait a full two weeks in between every shot. So
I'm going in on Friday of this week to get my third shot; um, that will be 10 days after
my second shot. And then, um, two Tuesdays after that, um, so 11 days, I'll be getting
my fourth shot and that should be my last shot in the office. I'm really excited about
not having to go in to get my shots on a going-forward basis just because it's kind of expensive
and my insurance isn't covering the in-office shots, so that's about 80 bucks a visit, um,
which I guess could be worse. But, I'd rather not pay it if I don't have to. So, I should
be self-injecting after two more shots. Um, she said that - we talked a little bit about
the fact that the last shot was a lot more painful. She said different people kind of
have different, um, reactions to the shots. My first shot was in my rear-end and my second
shot was in my thigh... She said they probably didn't change needles. Um, it seemed bigger
to me but I wasn't really paying that much attention to the first one to be honest. So,
um, she said she thinks, you know, they have a standard needle that they use so she said
it should have been the same size needle and maybe for me my thigh's just a more sensitive
location. But it's really hard to self-inject in the rear-end because it's kind of an awkward
position. Um, so she said we can talk about it if, um, I really don't think I can use
my thigh going forward, but I'm hoping that won't be an issue. I can deal with a little
bit of pain... You know, I've gotta do what I've gotta do. So, um, we'll see how that
goes. Uh, I haven't seen really any effects yet. I'm not expecting to. It takes, you know,
awhile to really kick in. Um, I am seeing my skin's a little oilier. Um, I'm trying
to take care of that, um, to try and prevent, you know, breaking out too badly, but, um,
I don't know that I can really avoid that because I'm prone to that anyways. So we'll
see how it goes. I talked to my doctor ahead of time and she said that if it gets too bad
she'll give me a prescription medicine, um, but hopefully if I'm just - you know, if I
take care of myself it will, um, I won't need to get a prescription, but we'll see. Um,
the only other thing I noticed is last week, like for two, three days after my last injection
I was so hungry. And I assume that that has to be related to the testosterone because
I didn't change anything else. I didn't change my sleep habits or my diet or my exercise
or my daily routine, um, so I have to assume it was related to the testosterone. Um, normally,
you know, I eat two full meals a day plus a snack or two, um, and I get full when I
eat. But for a couple days last week I would eat a meal and I would still be hungry. And,
um, I'm trying to lose weight, not gain weight. So, I'm hoping this doesn't happen all the
time because constant nagging hunger is not conducive to weight loss. Um, speaking of
weight loss, I have admittedly not been very good about working out and taking care of
myself over the last couple months. Um, I think I mentioned this before but I work full
time, I go to school double full time, because I'm in grad school. Two classes is considered
full time and I'm taking four right now on top of working forty hours a week. So, although
I technically would probably have time to work out if I really wanted to, I don't have
- I haven't had the energy. Um, I only have so much energy to put into my life and unfortunately
school and work had to come first for awhile. But, I'm super excited I graduate on Saturday.
I just turned in my last assignment last night. I'm done with grad school. So, working out
and health issues are my top priority right now. Um, I'm hoping to go to the gym five
to six days a week. Um, I might have to ease into that a little because bad habits can
be hard to break. But, um, I am really interested to see if I feel different working out with
the testosterone in me than when I didn't have it. Um, I'm also curious to see, uh,
if I do seem to build muscle mass more quickly. Um, it sounds like, you know, it's a - kind
of a given. Um, I don't know if it will take longer to kick in or if I'll kind of start
seeing it, assuming I work out as much as I planned to, if I'll see it pretty quickly.
Um, but I really want to try and become healthy and get to a healthy weight. I've heard that
it can actually help with the top surgery to be at a healthy weight. The - you get better
results and you tend to heal a little easier. Although I don't see myself having top surgery
anytime soon, um just 'cause I don't have the money and I don't feel that I can really
take the time off work, but, um, I would love to be at a good weight when I do have the
surgery. Um, and I was thinking about this when I was trying to think of what I wanted
to talk about tonight, and I think that before I just didn't care that much because there
was this disconnect with my body. And, I'm not someone who grew up knowing I was trans,
um, it's kind of a revelation I've come to over the last five to six years. But, um,
as a, as a teenager and a child I had no idea. But, you know, once I hit puberty I started
gaining weight and I just, I didn't care that much about my appearance and I buried myself
in academics and I told myself that, you know, I was good in school and I was the smart one
and that, you know I didn't need to be involved in sports and pay attention to my appearance
all that much. And, it's funny, now that I'm taking steps to really be me, I feel that
I care a lot more and I really want to be healthy and I want to get to a better weight
and I want to take care of myself. And, I want to be attractive and I'm excited. I'm
excited to work out and I'm excited to have time to really, um, do what I want to do and
do what I need to do. And, um, I just... I can't wait to see what happens and to, um,
reap the benefits of the hard work that I want to put in. Um, so I'm looking forward
to that. We'll see how it goes. I know it's kind of a slow process, um, but, I think it's
exciting. Um, let's see, I don't know that I really have anything else to talk about
tonight. Um, I'm kind of sleep deprived, a little out of it right now. Um, I had finals
this week but I'm done now, so all's good in the world. Um, I will hopefully make my
next video next week. Um, I'll talk to you later. Bye.
