Quite often I'm asked what happens if I don't file. Isn't it against the
law that we have to file taxes. It's always a good argument but the congress does have
the power to levy and collect taxes so you should always file your taxes return. If you
don't and you don't respond on to the letters the government sends you they will file for
you if you happen to have a profession they'll include it the gross income figures based
on the average income for your particular profession. If your working person and your
W2's are out there they will include all that income and will not allow you your personal
exemptions. So you'll pay a lot more taxes by not filing in the long run you do if you
file timely so it's very important that you file your taxes every year you'll be glad
that you did, thank you.
