Hi guys, it's Monday which of course means it's the Monday Show! And coming up for you
today, we have some shock election news from North Korea, a Mexican drug lord comes back
from the dead only to be killed again, and a drone drug drop.
Plus, of course your comments! So first to North Korea where supreme leader
Kim Jong-Un has been elected to the Supreme People's Assembly, the country's highest legislative
body - with 100% of the vote. But that's not all. Apparently Kim Jong-Un's
district also had a turnout of - yep you've guessed it - 100%.
Jong-Un was one of 687 candidates running in the five-yearly elections to the Supreme
People's Assembly where both the election, and the Assembly itself are just rubber-stamp
operations. The Assembly often only meets once a year and in practice has very little
power. While in the election, each of the 687 voting
districts had only one candidate running for office, all of whom has been pre-approved
by the state. Apparently the elections are a chance to see
who is in favour with the leadership: if you make it onto the candidate list then you're
in favour, but if you're left off it then you've gone out of favour...
And I think we know where we'd want to be. And now for your comments, and today we've
got some corkers. On Adam's lovely sex fact hunt video, Christoffer
Hodal left this comment: Blue whales also can't get a full ***, as they would either
pass out or die from the blood loss. Which was followed up by this rather ingenious
comment by Arnold Layn: Or maybe the whale was lying because it didn't want to hurt your
feelings And on our CIA collaboration video, taschentiger
said this: Anyone else feel like Operation Northwoods may have been a blueprint for the
Iraq war? Well you can let us know what you think about
that in the comments below. And now to Mexico where a drug kingpin known
as El Mas Loco, or "The Craziest One", has been killed in a shootout with government
forces. Or at least we think he has.
Because this isn't the first time that El Mas Loco, whose real name is Nazario Moreno,
has been reported dead. Back in December 2010, Moreno was reported
to have been killed by the government in a firefight. But his body was never recovered,
and many people believed that he was still alive.
If Moreno really has gone this time however, then it will be seen as another major victory
for President Enrique Pena Nieto's government, especially after capturing Joaquin Guzman,
the country's most wanted drug lord, just last month.
Moreno was the founder and former leader of the La Familia drug cartel, based in the Mexican
state of Michoacan. Ever since his first reported death, Moreno has been regarded as the spiritual
leader of the notoriously brutal Knights Templar cartel, an offshoot of La Familia.
And finally, over to Brazil where a drone has been used to make a drug drop in a Sao
Paulo prison. According to the Brazilian daily newspaper,
Folha de Sao Paulo, the drone in question was a remote control mini helicopter that
was used to dump a package containing 250 grams of *** in the courtyard of the Provisional
Detention Centre in the city of Sao Jose dos Campos.
Apparently the package has been seized by prison officials but the pilot of the drone
is yet to be found. Well unfortunately that's it for this week
but as always you can let us know your thoughts in the comments below and we'll see you again
next Monday!
