Hello and welcome to another gameplay demonstration of the mud Alter Aeon!
Today's demonstration will be a walkthrough on how to get to
the Fountain of Youth, and how to get to the level 33-34 warrior trainer.
We're going to start out by going to "A blackened waypoint".
That's the closest one to where we're at.
Both of these locations are in the same part of the world.
We'll start by going south to the Aggerazzi Swamp.
Okay, this waypoint is in the western part of the Nemean Fields.
I don't know where everything is exactly, but I have a general idea.
I'm going to go ahead and cast a few defensive spells.
That's if it'll work.
Okay...and invisibility.
Okay, I'm going to switch from my mage suit to my cleric...er, excuse me...
...to my regen suit.
This will make sure that I replenish my mana quickly
so I'll be able to cast refreshes while I'm walking through the swamp.
Uh, the invisilibity spell is so I can walk past most of the monsters.
A lot of mundane creatures such as...
...the wolves, the vipers and crocodiles I'll be able to walk right past...
with an invisibility spell. I'll have to be careful of the trolls and the other...
...unique entities such as the baby black dragon, the tectonic entity and the Demonwolf...
which can see right through invisibility.
Since I'm doing this during the day, I can use the "scan" to see what's ahead of me.
Fortunately, it looks like I haven't walked into a troll yet.
I will probably have to contend with the green hag, however.
Make sure to keep your movement up.
It takes a lot of movement to walk through the swamp,
and you don't want to caught in a fight you can't get away from.
Let's see, she casts, I believe, icebolt, and she has a poison breath attack.
Here we go. Go ahead and retreat away.
Refresh myself.
Oh, she followed me!
Retreat away again!
Open up the moss, and there it is: the Fountain of Youth.
All right.
I'm going to go ahead and drink from it.
Oh, make sure you close the moss once you're in there,
or else stuff from the swamp will wander in while you're busy in here.
Darklord is pretty old.
You can see that he feels like 143 only, but he's 181.
That second number is one that's important.
My goal is to get him to be under fifty,
so I think I'll have to drink from it three times.
I'm going to lose quite a bit of spells and skills.
You lose a few percentage points of several different spells and skills
every time you drink from the fountain.
Here we go.
Let's see what my age is now.
Oh, ninety-six...maybe I'll only have to do twice.
Let's drink one more time.
Ah, there we go! 45! It was my goal to get under 50.
I'll go ahead and use the practices I have to train back and spells and skills that I need,
although most of them I will gain back naturally as I use them.
I'm really only worried most about the skills that don't improve naturally
uh, such as... uh, increased stamina I've been putting a lot of combat points into lately.
So, recall!
I'm gonna regen...go ahead and get back some movement and mana
and start over again.
This time we'll be heading to the warrior trainer.
Time passes about thirty times faster in Alter Aeon than it does in real life.
Honestly, unless you play for more than a few years,
you'll never have to worry about coming to the Fountain of Youth
unless you age yourself using a haste spell or using equipment.
If you unnaturally age yourself...a lot of people do.
It's a strategy to get more mana for spellcasting players...
...then, you may find yourself coming out here to do this,
or, you have been playing for seventeen years like I have,
well, then you might end up doing it anyway.
Darklord has drank from the Fountain of Youth twice before.
Let's see how my stuff took.
Doesn't look like my spells and skills took much of a beating.
All right. Here we go again.
My invisibility is up. Most of my spells are still up because I cast them at a high level
while I was in my mage suit.
Go ahead and walk out there again.
Uh, I've got everyone ignored except for Dentin, of course.
I can't ignore him, so you're going to see him chitter-chattering in the background as I do this.
Same as before.
Keeping up my movement.
I've got defensive fighting up.
Make sure I don't take any damage in case I do get into a fight.
Let's see, I wanna make sure I have my yellow one out.
There it is. I already had it.
You'll have to be careful.
There are some no-exit rooms out here; they're traps.
If you get stuck in them, you'll have to recall and start over.
Again, I'm moving in a general direction.
I don't have the place mapped out in my head or memorized or anything silly like that.
I do have a general idea of where things are.
The south part of the Aggerazzi Swamp is where most of the more dangerous things tend to lurk.
That's part we're going to have to walk through.
Oh, make sure I don't run out of movement there.
On the dclient there, you'll see some rooms with down exits.
Yeah. Those are the traps. I already fell in one before.
Don't wanna mess with the scragg.
Found a troll.
Retreat past him.
Good so far.
The good part is that if you do it right,
it really doesn't take too much time.
A lot of people complain about the... complain about the maze down here.
Really, if you keep your movement up, you can retreat away from the monsters as they get close to you.
You'll probably be okay.
I think I'll give myself a sanctuary spell just to make sure I don't get too badly beat up.
I'll figure it out eventually!
Ah, looks like I found it.
Make sure I have lots of movement. Check my invisibility spell.
All right. Once again, most of the mundane monsters will leave me alone.
Trolls, however, can see through invisibility.
So I'll have to run past then... sneak past them...
I'm not very sneaky, unfortunately.
This tree hollow is a safe room, so I'm gonna pop in here for just a minute.
That chest there has a ring of regeneration in it.
The key is hung around the weretiger's neck.
I believe, um, it only loads at night.
I'm not even sure it will some up on my 'where' here...probably not...
because it is daytime.
Only need a few more minutes here.
All right, my invisibility is at "15 minutes remaining".
That means that there's two ticks left on it.
So, I'm going to go ahead and make a run for it.
Now in this middle section, you'll see a part with caves in it.
Okay, first cave leads to a bunch of spiders and trolls.
The trolls can see through invisibility; the spiders can't.
So, I'm going to retreat past the grey trolls, like I've been doing the other ones.
Let's go ahead and enter the cave.
Down here to the ancient and overgrown fountain.
There should be a key in it.
All right.
Now we're going to go ahead and head out.
Okay, we enter the second cave.
Now one north, there's going to be a troll witchdoctor.
Okay, he casts icebolt and does poison breath save, I believe.
I'm gonna get this up: slow poison and fire shield.
We're going to go ahead and do sanctuary,
and protection from evil because all the trolls out here are evil anyway.
Okay, this way I won't get too beat up while I'm working on this.
Um, you'll have to be careful when you unlock and open the doors where the witchdoctor is.
The witchdoctor will fly.
You have to make sure you're flying, too, or you will fall to the bottom where the grey trolls were.
I can't cast fly;
however, I do have a piece of equipment that let's me do it:
my black angel wings.
So, I'm going to go ahead and remove my flowing white robe,
and put on my wings, so I now start to fly.
Go ahead and run in here like this,
unlock the door,
open the door,
retreat past him to the west
if it'll let me,
and there we go!
West... up...
...and there is the level 33-34 warrior trainer, the temple guardian.
I hope you've enjoyed this gameplay demonstration and found it useful.
Happy mudding!
