Yo. So i'm going to ask that you load up a monster so that we can work on it.
I loaded up a blue blip.
Now when you did this, you'll notice that in the top right corner it has changed to
locked, like I mentioned in my fist video. This means that this little monster has animation
data (as most monsters do) Head over to the animations tab.
You'll notice a few buttons, and Xs next to them. The big buttons are the different animation
types, and the Xs delete them. To the right of each row is a red or green
square. Green means there is animation data, red means there isn't.
Let's click on the idle animation. If you click the huge play button, it will
cycle through it's currently set animation. Below it is the frame selector. Each monster
can only have 6 frames. Each frame has a certain speed, designated
by the frame speed slider. The farther left it goes makes its longer.
Farther right is shorter. You can also attach a sound to play when that
frame is triggered, by the sound box. This automatically pulls sounds out of your
SFX folder within your N8 program folder.
You can also copy, paste, and revert frame at the bottom.
Click on return, and let's make a new death animation.
First, move the frame speed slider to the middle, and then copy the frame.
Move to each frame, and paste that new frame you copied.
This is to make the speed a lot faster for now.
Head back to the first frame, and we will start manipulating the monster.
It's pretty simple to just move parts around, and the rest will change.
Keep in mind that you can copy/paste frames while you go down the line to make it look
consistent. You can also smooth the animation to make
it look less choppy and..well..smoother.
That's it for this time.
