Well, after you introduce yourself,
uh... what do you talk about?
Well, I'll probably uh... talk about something that uh...
I share with the person that I'm being introduced to...
or um... for example, I might talk about um...
the place where we are.
In a classroom
if I'm a student, if I were a student, for example,
uh... I might talk about the class.
I might say something like... Um...
'Do you enjoy this class?'
I might ask a question like that,
or I might say something like... Um...
'This class has a lot of reading assignments, doesn't it?'
or something like that.
I might talk about the teacher.
I might say...
Hopefully, nicely...
Nicely...
I might say, 'The teacher in this class is really great, isn't he?
or um... I might um...
I might talk about uh... the uh... the test...
I might say, 'This class has a lot of tests, doesn't it?'
So I might talk about something that we share
something that we have in common.
Um... if I'm in another place, for example,
a sports club or s,omething like that
I might talk about uh...
some activity that we share.
I might talk about tennis.
I might say, um...
'How many... how often do you come here to play tennis?'
uh... I might say something like that
or I might um... talk about uh...
hobbies that we might share.
I might say that uh...
you know... I'm interested in stamp collecting...
How about you?
Are you?
No, I'm not interested in stamp collecting but for example,
I might... I might ask about something like that,
a hobby or something like that.
I might ask where somebody lives.
'Do you live near the school,
or uh... do you have far to come everyday?'
'How long does it take you to... to get here?'
So, you begin with asking a question... Iots of questions?
Sure, I think we'll... after introducing myself,
uh... I think then we...
I would try to exchange information with...
uh the person whom I have just met.
