If you'd like to set up custom thumbnails on your YouTube videos, stay tuned and watch
this short video, as I show you how. Hi there, David Walsh here again from DavidWalshOnLine.com
and in this short video I'm gonna show you how to set up custom thumbnails on your YouTube
videos. Now, it's been proven that custom thumbnails
will get more views to your YouTube videos. So, being able to enable custom thumbnails
on your YouTube videos can help you dramatically get more views and even more subscribers to
your YouTube channel. So, we're gonna head over to a channel right
now, and I'm gonna show you how to enable custom thumbnails on your YouTube channel
and then, also, how to add those custom thumbnails to your videos.
So, here I am in a channel, so, to get into the settings, all I need to do is go up to
the top right and click on 'Video Manager'. So, then I click on the 'Channel Settings'
on the left hand side. And when in here, I can see that I don't have
my custom thumbnails switched on. So, what I'm gonna do is click on the 'Verify' button
here. Now, it's gonna ask me to put in my phone number, so it will send me an SMS or
it will give me a voice call. I'm going to select an SMS. It's going to
send me a verification number, a six digit verification number that I need to put in
here. So, I'm going to pause this now and then I'll come back when I have received the
verification number. So, I've received my code and I'm gonna type
it in now. And then click on the 'Verify' button. And now you can see that custom thumbnails
are now 'Enabled'. So, if you don't have monetization, which
is the other way that you can enable custom thumbnails; if you don't have monetization
available, then you can use the verified account method to get your custom thumbnails on your
channels. Now, we're gonna go over and upload a video
and then we're going to add a custom thumbnail to that video. So, I'm just gonna grab a video,
so, as that goes; uploaded. Now, we have this custom thumbnail available;
this custom thumbnail button available to us, so, we click on this. It asks us for a
thumbnail, we've got one here; that uploads. So, now we can see that we have our custom
thumbnail here, while our video is processing. So, this is what people will see when your
video comes up on YouTube or Google. Make sure your image is 1280x720 high and also,
that it's less than 2 Megs, so that YouTube will accept it when you upload it.
So, there you go, that's how you add custom thumbnails to your YouTube videos. As I said,
it's been proven to increase your video views on your videos. So, if YouTube puts them as
'Associated Videos', make sure to create an eye catching thumbnail, so that people when
they see it in the sidebar or on another video that they want to click on it, because it
intrigues them. So, if you have any questions about this or
anything to do with YouTube, feel free to just stick them in the comments below. Also,
