It's time for the
Focus calibration. It's important to stay in focus as we
capture images, as being out of focus is one of the top
reasons for having to perform re-work.
Focus can also be a challenging part of the calibration
but the good news is that DCam gets us a lot
of the way there. Before you start the calibration make sure
the camera is turned on and the lens cap is removed.
For this calibration you'll need the camera, the DCam software
installed on your computer, and you'll need the focus target.
Place the Focus target
on the copyboard at a 30 degree angle and
then click Start.
The software
locates the target and we want to zoom
in on this area where the numbers go
from 4.5-10. You can use
the buttons with the arrows on them.
The buttons with one arrow do slight adjustments.
The buttons with more arrows do greater adjustments.
Oftentimes the Autofocus
done by the camera
will be satisfactory,
but sometimes you want to tweak it a little bit.
If you want to re-do the focus, simply click the Autofocus
button. Then it starts the process
again. You can zoom in using the
scroll wheel on the mouse.
Do a few slight adjustments.
Once we're satisfied with the
focus quality, we click
Accept Focus.
The Next button should become active, click Next.
