Hey guys. It's Andrea Travillian with TakeASmartStep.com. I want to talk a little bit today about understanding
what you want and that being the key to creating financial independence.
So a lot of times when you're reading blogs or listening to the news or books, you can
start to feel like you're thinking wrong. So for example, let's say you're reading a
book about entrepreneurship and how you're absolutely stupid if you're in the corporate
life and that's the way that you're building money or you might be reading a blog about
early retirement, how the only way to live life is to retire at 35 and travel and just
get by.
What you need to understand is that there's lots of options out there, lots and lots of
options and what is right for you might not be right for somebody else and that book you're
reading or that blog you're reading, that lifestyle might be perfect for them but not
for you.
So instead of starting to feel bad that you picked the wrong thing, you need to make sure
it's what you want and if you're happy and you're content and you're enjoying what you're
doing, then continue doing that.
You can create financial stability whether you are working a regular 9:00 to 5:00 job,
whether you're working for yourself, as long as you're happy and it's what you want.
Don't worry about what the media is saying or that guy down the road is saying or that
blog is saying. Some of the happiest people I know work in Corporate America. They love
what they're doing.
I know some entrepreneurs who are miserable. They can't handle the ups and downs but they
think going back to the corporate world is wrong because they're taught that they need
to be self-employed.
So, figure out what you want and go be happy with that no matter what that is. You want
to know the best part? When you're happy with what you want or what you're working towards
and it's really what you want, then building wealth becomes easier because you're happy.
So my action step for you this week is to figure out what you want for your life. The
best way to do this is to write out your vision statement. What do you want to be doing in
five years? What makes you happy? What really makes you want to get up in the morning and
go? I know that what I'm doing right now, I cannot imagine doing anything else. Well,
except maybe being an aerobics teachers, but I bet I could do it both at the same time.
So figure out what it is that you want your life to look like. Are you happy in that corporate
job? Fine! After you write that vision statement and you really figure it out, what makes you
happy, then work on achieving it. Then I would love it if you could click Like on the video.
Share it to all your friends and we will see you next time.
