OK, before we get ready to part the hair, I'm going to get a little more Egyptian Magic,
or you can use the oil, whatever product you've been using. And to run it through the hair,
this is very meticulous. You're going to be pulling on the hair a lot. So it's good to
get the hair nice and moisturized. Don't put too much, don't weigh down the hair. You still
want it to be light, keep it clean, but you want the hair to slide in-between each other.
That way they don't grab on, you don't get tangles and knots. We just run it through
the hair. Now when you're planning for your fishbone braid, it's similar to a zigzag,
you want to section off a whole large amount of hair that you're going to want the whole
style to incorporate into. Now what we're going to do, is I plan on having the large
braid start right here where her hairline comes out. So what I'm going to do is I'm
going to have it start right about here to make this the middle of the two sides to where
the braids can feed into. So we're going to start the part up here and just get that,
start to get that going.
And just make sure you keep an eye on it, because you do, it's very important to keep
this very straight, keep in line, because it's going to change the starting point of
each new braid. So you just want it go down, use the teeth of your wide tooth comb to sort
of pick out the hair to get it to separate. Now that we've got that first line set up,
I'm going to stick the come in there and we're going to go down the side. Now when you're
going towards the back, of course the back of the head has less hair than in the middle,
so you want to be aware of that, because generally you do two fishbone braids or more so we're
going to keep going down. And I'm going to start, I'm going to make it about this wide
towards the bottom just we have enough room to do another one, or to do different style
of braid. So you just keep this going down. Keep that straight line and remember, it's
the starting point for all of your braids, so you want to make sure they line up really
well. Just keep going down. It's kind of at an angle now, but it's just because the hair
gets more narrow towards the bottom. Just keep going down all the way and now we're
ready to start the part in to get this fishbone going right there.
